Computer shipping

Some of the computers were shipped today. If yours was shipped, you will have been notified and sent tracking information. For any remaining purchasers, I'll have to ship the rest on Wednesday as tomorrow is a public holiday (Melbourne Cup Day). If your shipping information has changed, please let me know asap.

I'll be working some of tomorrow, but will be out from about midday onwards.

Android phones

On another note, some of you asked if Android phones would be suitable. I did some tests and it can be done, but one problem is the RF issues are likely to be worse on such phones. And the modifications and additional programming will be a lot of work when it is not even necessary. We already have what we need.

Uber phones (again)

I've tested the modified discontinued phone model, and it works very well. Accuracy easily down to 1ms, fast and responsive, covert communication capabilities. This is the new model now. As for the other suitable phone, it has its advantages but I prefer the discontinued one.

I've ordered another 50 units which will mean I'll have 100 of them, and wont be short of stock anytime soon.

Next week I'll send the phones to the technician for his mods. As soon as I have the first few (roughly end of next week), I'll set a date for a support meeting which will be around the week after (about 2 weeks from now). Partners can get new phones from there if needed and if they live locally.

If you have no problems with your phone (rf issues), there is no need to change them.

For partners waiting for their phone, it will be shipped from the new batch of phones, but purchasers have first priority. It just depends on how quickly the technician works. He usually averages 5-10 phones per week between his other work.

For purchasers waiting for their phone, some of you will get the new phone type, some the old type. It makes no difference as there is a 12 month warranty so any defective phones are replaced. I test them all before they are sent anyway. I didn't have the chance to ship today, but rest assured I will first chance I get. Again I'm compensating you for the delay with free additional equipment.

Roulette computer shipping

I'm aware I'm behind on computer shipping. For purchasers waiting, I'll include extra equipment for free as compensation. It is just a matter of me finding the time to get some last things together. I expect to ship either tomorrow or monday.

Mobile phone software for "before ball release" analysis

After a delay pending some revised specifications, development of the mobile phone software for "before ball release" analysis has resumed. Many of you know it as the "mobile phone system".

Basically the initial release is for you to collect all data at the wheel, without needing pen and paper. Then you can export this data into the online wheel analysis software and either analyze manually, or with the upcoming automated software.

The following release will enable you to actually send the data to the analysis server direct from the roulette table (via mobile phone GSM towers), automatically, where it does the analysis for you AND gives you the predictions to bet on.
The wireless GSM transmissions will be infrequent, so it wont be a security risk. All you do is enter the data via a hidden cable, and you are told where to bet via the invisible wireless earpiece. The idea is to integrate it with the automated wheel analysis software - to make application of advanced methods as easy and automated as possible.

The ultimate aim is to make it so even a new player from day one can achieve the same results as an experienced player.

I'm still not sure if there will be any costs associated with it (in addition to amounts already paid). Development of both the server and mobile phone components is costly, and it does not benefit me at all because my private teams use the roulette computers. First we'll complete the work, then look at overall development costs before deciding on this part.

New Uber phones

I've sourced a discontinued phone model which has passed all initial testing for the ideal candidate for the new base hardware. We do have another suitable phone that is already fully tested, but this other one is even better. We have managed to get timing accuracy to easily within 1ms accuracy, and wireless transmissions are fast and secure.

I've already received 50 units today as they work perfectly with the Lite version computers anyway, so its not like they'll go to waste. But we haven't yet fully tested with the Uber software, although it should be fine. I'll post updates as soon as they rest of the testing is done, which should be monday/tuesday.

New earpieces

I've managed to source new wireless earpieces which arrived today. For double the price, there is about a 10% increase in sound volume. Needless to say, it is not worth it. With the loop booster, you only need a slight increase in volume anyway.

Automated wheel analysis software

Rather than having a very basic initial release of the automated software, we're taking a bit more time to create a version that will perform a better analysis (more thorough and with fewer requirements for data, which makes it easier for players). I don't yet know how long it is expected to take as the programmers haven't advised me yet. But I expect it would be about 2 weeks longer than the previous plans.

Emailing me & Uber updated phones

Emailing me: As I'm receiving too much spam, for the first time you email me you'll need to respond with a verification email, otherwise your email wont reach me.

New uber phones: There are about 30 people busting my balls about this every day. It is being worked on full time, and I post updates when I have them. If there are no updates published, there are no updates. I have the blog so everyone can be kept informed, without needing to contact everyone individually.

Automated wheel analysis software

Good progress is being made. For now I'm refining the algorithms to be suitable for a larger portion of wheels for the initial release of this module, so it will be useful to more players. It is very tricky business so please be patient. At this stage it may be about 2 weeks until first release, but possibly as long as 3-4 weeks. There are a lot of uncertain things about what to include and omit, and how to structure it all. Again this will just be initial release, and over time more wheels will be catered for.

Uber software on smartphone

Some players wanted to know if the Uber will run on a smartphone without
firmware modifications. We tested today on three different smartphones,
and timings were nowhere near accurate for 2 of them, and one other
phone was reasonable but with accuracy only to about 10ms. This is
actually workable considering the average timing error from manual
clicks is 30-60ms, but the phones with firmware mods have accuracy
between 1-5ms. 1ms accuracy is the best we can get it which is ample
accuracy, which is the case with the new phones.

To test this we use the same switch arrangement for two of the phones we
are testing, and one microprocessor timer with lcd screen that displays
the timings between clicks. The idea is if there is 1ms accuracy, then
all three will deviate in timings no more than 1ms.

Anyway as a general update on progress with the new phones, I'll have
the first completed unit early next week. Once I've thoroughly tested it
to check for rf issues, we'll begin work on a lot more.

New Uber phones

Everything works perfectly from a software perspective with the new phones. I'm still waiting for the manufacturer to get back to me on the firmware to see if we can do better mods. The technician says he may only be able to use one cable because there isn't a lot of room to work with, but he's still looking into it. There are no further updates on this for now.

Auto wheel analysis software

The framework for the automated analysis is complete. It is not yet available on the analysis server - it is still only on the developer's server.

It does a basic analysis with intermediate methods, which is usually fine for the average wheel - it not optimal though. There are countless conditions that the software must account for if it's to be completely automated, and as accurate as it could be. And to achieve this requires very complicated algorithms that will take a long time to complete. So they are being done in stages. I expect it will take roughly 3 weeks before players can begin to actually use the automated analysis part. And after the initial release, we'll gradually implement enhancements.

Software access

While developing the automated wheel analysis part, the programmers accidentally changed something so I cant issue access codes for the software today. This will be fixed by tomorrow though. So if you're waiting for software access, it will only be a day more.

Hybrid V3

I've just tested the latest version, and things are progressing very well. There is still loads to do though. I estimate there is roughly a 1-2 months remaining for everything to be fully operational, but there may be about a month of tweaking and optimizing after this. So for full completion, roughly 2-3 months from now. Could be as early as 1 month but I'd rather give a more realistic and conservative estimation.

Uber phones

We've confirmed one of the phone models is definitely suitable at least from a software perspective. Firmware isnt a problem. It also has several advantages over the old phones too - it's smaller among other things.

The technician still has to get back to me about a few things. I expect to hear this week sometime.

General update

All emails are responded to (except very recent ones), but I couldnt finish the rest of the work as I had to test the latest uber release.

Evaluating target possibilities for Uber computer

All Uber computer players should read http://www.genuinewinner.com/forum/index.php/topic,240.0.html as it explains how to evaluate whether or not increasing accuracy with target algorithm is "possible". Specifically it explains how to evaluate the deviation in ball deceleration between different spins, even when conditions are exactly the same. Future versions will do this evaluation for you automatically.

General update for emails, document and software access, and spin analysis

I'll be up to date on all emails, document and software access within a few hours. If I have time I'll also do remaining spin analysis today, if not early upcoming week.

Uber phone manufacturer

The manufacturer's representative has said we should be able to get
custom firmware if we purchase bulk volumes of phones, but the
modifications they will do may do only part of what is needed. Either
way the rest the technicians can do anyway. They'll get back to me soon
with details. Regardless of the outcome we've successfully probed the
hardware and can definitely do the required modifications ourselves for
one of the suitable phones, although it would be better if we get the
manufacturer to some of the mods for us. But in addition to firmware,
extra hardware needs to be used, then integration of it all which is a
very fiddly job.

It may end up meaning there will be enough phones to last years, which
is more than needed. But if that's the case, they'll be used for the
lite and uber computers.

Lite and Basic roulette computer instruction update

Updates of the instructions are now available - download from the original location. I've added some printable charts for users (for building the jump charts).

Uber computer software update

If you're waiting for the latest software update of the Uber, there is only a minor thing that needs addressing by the programmer. I expect he'll have it done over the weekend, so I should be able to ship in the coming week. It's in the programmer's hands although I'm pushing him to get it done asap.

Louder Earpieces

I've just ordered a bunch of earpieces that the manufacturer claims are much louder. They're more expensive but not by a lot. I'll test them when they arrive and will let everyone know how they are. If they're as good as they claim, I'll certainly order a lot more.

New Uber phones

Things are moving very quickly. There are multiple suitable phones, and now we're just probing to see if you can install custom firmware. We've focusing on one phone in particularly, but our initial efforts have "bricked" the phone meaning it wasn't compatible with the firmware we installed. There is a lot more the firmware programmers can try though.

Uber phones, Hybrid V3, & emails

The entire day has been spent working on new phones. The manufacturer needs to get back to me about some technical issues, and the tech needs to test some mods. Overall there are now three definite suitable models, but one is about to be discontinued. This wont be sorted out overnight but it is very close now, although most of it is out of my hands at this stage. At least the good news is we have 3 alternative models to the current one.

I'll need to test the latest Hybrid V3 tomorrow morning which will only take an hour, then I'll focus almost entirely on catching up on emails tomorrow morning.

Emails

I'm focusing time on sorting out the new Uber phones, so am behind on emails. I'll will catch up on all emails by the end of tomorrow.

New Uber Phones

Of the 3 candidate phones I had, 2 of them are near impossible to work with - we cannot install custom firmware on them. The other phone appears promising so far and we're continuing tests. It may take a week or so to know for sure though.

I'm doing what I can to avoid a phone shortage so for now we'll use the older phones, but with single cables only to reduce the RF issues. A single button may eliminate them, and we'll know in around a week. But that would still not be the permanent solution we're looking for.

New Uber Phones

We've just received 3 different phones that are possible replacement base models for the Uber. They are being tested to see if they can be used. The two main considerations are RF issues, and whether or not we can develop custom firmware for them. Its more a matter for the tech and programmers to sort out, but we should know within a week.

Roulette computer partnership options

If you're interested in becoming a roulette computer profit-split partner, or in obtaining my roulette computers at a much lower startup cost, see www.roulettecomputers.com/partners.html for changes to the roulette computer profit-split opportunity.

Carefully read the details: I only profit if you do.

Ultimately the changes maximize my revenue with the least time and effort possible,
while allowing me to evaluate teams that are suitable for partnerships with Hybrid version (www.hybridroulettecomputer.com).

Uber updates & general schedule

Uber: I didn't get the chance to test the updates in the actual demo, but did after. And they work perfectly except for a minor issues regarding compatibility with dynamic tuning. But it will be easily fixed. As for new phone models, I've identified two other possible models but both may be slightly more expensive to modify than the current model. Either way we'll test them both and see.

General schedule: I'll be in a meeting almost all of tomorrow. I wont be back to work until monday. I'll get as much done as possible in the rest of today.

Uber update coded

The programmer has completed coding of the updates - both of them, including for auto target and better edge monitoring. But they are not fully tested, and that will take at least a day. I have a private demo today so I'll test this morning before it, and if all seems ok I'll keep testing throughout the demo.

Uber computer update & new phone models

The programmer said he's just about done, but nothing has been tested yet. He'll continue work tonight.

The new phone model we thought would work will have problems. So I'll need to keep looking. There are 2 other candidates, but one is a bit too large. The other option is use the current phones but only use them with single cables. This is generally fine because if a player needs to use two cables, they are better off having 2 players: one clocking rotor, and other the ball at the same time. It is not the ideal situation to have one cable, but its one possible solution to RF issues.

Uber computer update

The programmer said he'll probably be able to finish the Uber computer's updates tonight. From progress I've seen so far, it's easily possible but nothing is certain until its done. Either way I can see its close to completion.

Once it is done and tested, I'll schedule another support meeting to cover the updates. The benefits of the updates are:
  • Much easier ability to monitor edge - so if conditions change (ie ball deceleration), you will know to back off on betting while the computer automatically recalibrates (although it doesn't take long anyway)
  • Easier application of auto target for correct rev and diamond hits - the player needs to know and do less
