Emails

All urgent e-mails and code requests have been responded to. Unfortunately I did not have time to respond to every e-mail, and had to temporarily skip some e-mails that were long and indirect. I will address them Monday. Please keep e-mails short and to the point. If you make responding time consuming and difficult for me, then it results in delayed responses – not just or you. I usually respond to the longest emails last so I keep the least amount of people waiting. If you don't ask clear and concise questions, expect imprecise answers as what you are asking may not be clear.

Email responses

I'm about a day behind on my emails as I've been attending to calls today. But tomorrow I'll be focusing on emails almost all day, so everyone will have a response before the start of the weekend.

Online analysis software

The updated software is complete except for testing etc. As testing usually reveals bugs and issues, it may be a few days before it is available to players – depending on whatever issues (if any) are found.

Shipping and Uber updates

I shipped two computers today – the players were notified. I still have more to ship (I know) and will continue next week. Also a few Uber updates are being done which should all be complete within a month.

Hybrid V3

Progress is almost at the point where players can begin training. Generally the training will consist of:

1. a series of videos that demonstrate how to set up the tracking of the wheel location, the ball, and the green zero. It is very simple but will cover the finer points so you'll have a good knowledge of everything before in-person training. (I'll do this first)

2. videos of actual application on a real wheel

3. written documentation similar to the Uber version's instructions as both the Uber and Hybrid use much the same features.

4. In-person training

I'm now satisfied that setup for the ball and rotor tracking is simple enough for anyone to use. As per my previous announcements, accuracy has been perfected for some time, but I wanted it to be simpler to setup so a user could see a quick instructional video and know what to do. Now setting up the automated timings takes about 60 seconds once the user knows what they're doing.

There will be a lot of new developments over the next week or so as we're putting the final parts in place. For the previous development, things felt very slow because the work is largely the kind of difficult development that takes most companies 5 or so years. But again these difficult parts are now done.

It is still difficult to estimate when things will be completed to the point where it can be used. What's left is some of the communications between electronic parts, and security features to the point where if a player is caught with the equipment, there is nothing substantial enough for the casino to have as evidence that any roulette computer is involved – ie not enough for any charges. Not that it would be used illegally anyway – its more a precaution in case the player obtained inaccurate legal advice about where they were playing.

Anyway the last parts may take about 3 weeks, then everything just needs to be tested thoroughly. I will know more about estimated time for completion soon. Purchasers will soon see more videos and it will become clearer how close we are.

Keeping emails short and to the point

Just a few reminders. Please:

* keep your emails short and to the point. Rarely do you need to tell me every little detail.

* give some thought to how you structure questions, and making them clear. If I read a sentence that does not make sense, rather than spending 30 seconds trying to decode what you may mean, I will ask you to clarify it which delays you getting an answer. 30 seconds is significant when doing it for many questions and emails.

Remember the easier you make things for me, the better I can assist everyone in a timely manner.

Delayed responses

I've just about recovered from a huge crash on my PC from which I send and receive emails. I maintain records of all emails back to 2001 (over 600k emails!) so it took some time to organize things. For the rest of the day I'll just catch up on responding to emails. If you don't get a response today, it will be Monday. FYI Thunderbird is pathetic at system restores, don't use it if you need a robust solution.

Online software update

The programmers have stated they expect to be complete with the JAA (online software) update in roughly 3-4 days. But keep in mind I'll need to test it etc. The changes include:

1. Better use of multi-core processors on the servers, so auto analysis will be done in much less time. We don't yet know what the improvement will be.

2. Cleaner user interface.

3. Overall better program structure and technology, which makes development of the new add-ons easier to do. Some of the add-ons include:

        i. Integration with the mobile phone spin collection software: so players can collect spins and have them automatically analyzed, and predictions are sent wirelessly to a hidden phone without the player needing to do anything other than enter data after each spin, and bet.

ii. Automatic notification of when patterns are strong or weak, so you know when you should or shouldn't play on a wheel. This is a critical component for auto analysis that is needed to make the automated software truly automated to the point where experienced players achieve the same results of new players.

iii. There will also be some other minor updates that will make managing your data and general software use easier.

Ultimately the aim is to bridge the gap between experienced players that do very well, and inexperienced players that have limited success.

Shipping

Unfortunately I couldnt get all shipping done this week. For the one emergency case though, this was shipped today. I am at least up to date on all work except for some emails that I'll do in the next hour, so I expect to resume shipping likely Tuesday.

Hybrid V3

I received the latest build today. This version uses a slightly different approach that ultimately makes setup easier. A side benefit was accuracy of timings are further improved. This version looks at numerous ball detections each pass, then calculates the ball timing based on position. Previous versions considered 3 ball locations and timings, but the latest version has no limit to the number of detections per revolution.

In simpler terms, the more the ball is seen, the more accurate timings are. In each pass, the ball may be seen by the camera 3 - 10 times. The only real limits are:

* The lighting: the darker the room, the slower the frame rate possible

* Camera quality: the better the camera, the better the frame rate especially in low-light conditions

* Accuracy from initial testing of latest version is about +/-6ms accuracy which is slightly better than previously. This is for a single revolution (pass of the ball). With multiple revolutions, it is easily reduced to +/-2ms or better.

The V3 timing accuracy is vastly superior to any manual clocking computer in every way. Automated, quick, very accurate, and it never gets tired. Setup is now much easier too. I can't see how it could get much better so I'm very happy with progress.

I expect it shouldn't be much more than a week for it to be operational to the point where it could be used. But there remains some of the secure wireless work to be done. Overall, a reasonable estimate for full completion is about 3 weeks.

Ebook issues on Windows XP

As far as I know, the only players experiencing ebook issues now are using Windows XP. The programmer released a version with a change which may solve the issue (navigation cancelled message). We dont yet know if it will work.

If you are still having issues, download the latest ebook file and try again (delete the old file first). For the roulette computer users, I've changed the link location so email me for the updated link. If you just wanted the primordials document, it is at the same location.
